2022 NSW Floods (Wisemans Ferry)
Department Primary Industries/Local Land Services
Amid rising floodwaters, loss of communications and power, limits general access and continuing inclement weather conditions, Total Fauna Solutions were tasked with the assessment of impacted livestock grazing areas impacted by flood and to provide life-saving fodder to animals.
In an incident response lasting eight days which saw an estimated 2200 bales of hay distributed to local families, Total Fauna Solutions were tasked with providing feed to livestock that had been displaced and/or moved to higher ground due to flooding. Total Fauna Solutions was responsible for arranging all transport and deliveries. In this case it was three large punts and a tilt tray truck.
Conducting operations in floodwaters comes with inherent risk. With this in mind all Total Fauna Solutions operators bring significant experience in these situations. Total Fauna Solutions also supplied a swiftwater rescue technician as part of the operational team.
“This type of work takes a toll. Physically, mentally and emotionally. Witnessing first-hand the devastation, the loss and the heartache…but to also see humanity at its finest coming together to help each other and animals in times of need was moving.”
